ApogeeFlow was established in the year 2000 as a spinoff from a US Army/LANL environmental bacteria detection program. ApogeeFlow has developed into a global leader offering a range of flow cytometers, becoming a reference system for studies of extracellular vesicles, liposomes and viruses. Their range of flow cytometers starts with the compact flow cytometers for conventional applications scaling up to a new class of flow cytometer for small particle studies and sorting.

ApogeeFlow's "MicroPLUS" cytometer is optimised for small particle applications without sacrificing the speed (event rates up to 100,000 per second) required for the measurement of small subpopulations which may originate from a particular cell type. ApogeeFlow was the first flow cytometer manufacturer to offer dedicated models optimised for small particle applications with the power to resolve particles scattering as little as a 100nm silica test bead.

The latest options include a wide range of laser colours, GxP compliance, light scatter calibration methods and walk-away operation for the analysis of 96 well plates.

MicroPLUS and Universal model flow cytometers can be configured for use in cGMP, cGLP and IVD environments. When used in strictly regulated laboratories, the system is set to automatically calibrate at the start of each session. Calibration results are logged in addition to the FCS format datafiles. A set of validated protocols is offered to standard level users and data quality is further controlled through the use of an encrypted audit trail of operator actions. ApogeeFlow offers IQ, OQ & PQ services to facilitate compliance with GxP regulations. Performance qualification for small particle applications differs considerably from conventional immune cell applications and is a critical consideration when choosing a flow cytometer for use in a GxP laboratory.
